Re: Clint Smith on Kimbers and Glocks etc.
Some very strange comments there. Negative about Kimbers, Glocks, and S&W 642 etc? Guess no one is safe without a Thunder Ranch modified firearm. Perhaps I missed something...looks odd.
"The 2" S&W are good for what they are intended for, arms length defense...but comfort should not be traded for correct operation and potential effectiveness."
Everyone is not going to a war zone. A firearm sized you will carry is 1,000 times better than the best in the world uncarried. Clint has a lot of opinions that could use some context...

IF you practice with it. Short sight radius works against accuracy, and that can only be made up for with practice, IMHO. BTW, I own a 1973 Model 49 Bodyguard.cheezit wrote:2" s&w mdl 36 will do better then you think

I think it was Clint that said rule #1 is always have a gun....
Clint is great and if I worked there, my carry gun would not be a compact, either... But his writing doesn't consider the compromises that some people need to make based on their size, profession, dress code, etc. Everyone can't CC carry a full sized _______ in an OWB, under a jacket, all the time.
As for Kimbers- I guess I will have to keep mine and be happy. ...lol

So the bottom line if you have a Kimber and yours works (working means you can fire 3-500 rounds without having to struggle with it) then you should keep it and be happy

Perfectly happy with all of my Glocks as well as my Kimber. None of them have given me a problem even with hard use. Although I will admit I seem to have to clean my Kimber a lot more frequently than the Glocks....

You have to clean a Glock? Go figure.gthaustex wrote:Perfectly happy with all of my Glocks as well as my Kimber. None of them have given me a problem even with hard use. Although I will admit I seem to have to clean my Kimber a lot more frequently than the Glocks....

I also don't see the problem with Glocks he mentions. I must be exceptional. NOT! Therefore, I can't take anything he says seriously.

I have a Glock 21 Gen 2 that gave me fits until it made two trips back to the factory. FTFs and stovepipes. Whatever they did the second time must have worked, it hasn't had one problem since.

gosh...I'm shaking in my boots now, just thinking "what If?". Just got back from a meeting (governmental meeting, by the way) and decided to carry nothing but my two inch 1963 S&W Model 36.... with only one speed strip reload. I need to reconsider what I carry and maybe make it a rifle for next months meeting

It's not gun control that we need, it's soul control!
