First IDPA MATCH
Well, I did it! Thanks to the folks at Texas Tactical for giving me what will be one of my fondest life memories. I had such a blast. Here's a video of my first CoF
at Cedar Ridge Range.

Lot's of fun, isn't it? Do you know how you did compared to everyone else yet?

I scored like 26th out of 29 in my division. No dq's or ftn's and I hit everthing I aimed at. I call that a good day.C-dub wrote:Lot's of fun, isn't it? Do you know how you did compared to everyone else yet?

Re: First IDPA MATCH
That does sound really good fora first match. 26/29, that's a bunch of people. How many do you think were in the whole match? The matches I've been in have only had about 30-40 people with about 6-8 in the Stock Service Pistol - Marksman group that I'm in. I think my first match had 5 or 6 people in that group. I was unclassified, but I think I would have been third in that group.jayinsat wrote:I scored like 26th out of 29 in my division. No dq's or ftn's and I hit everthing I aimed at. Lately, I've been working mostly on improving my accuracy and then speed a little bit.

Re: First IDPA MATCH
Great first match. #1 key is safety and you accomplished that.
The FTEs, FTFs, and other problems will arise and they are all opportunites to quickly triage your pistol/equipment/ammo and get back into action. Being DQed can be a good learning experience....do ask me how I know; I'm still feeling the pain

That looks fun. I've always wanted to shoot something like that, but where are you guys finding bullets to play around with? That's the only thing keeping me from doing it.

You have to take up a new hobby. It's like Easter but instead of an Easter egg hunt you do a bullet hunt. Stand in line at Academy, Bass Pro Shops, Walmarts etc, at 7 am or earlier and stand in line. It's like Black Friday sales for guys.Chris wrote:That looks fun. I've always wanted to shoot something like that, but where are you guys finding bullets to play around with?
