Time for a New Safe

Post by RX8er »

Hi all,

Happy Saturday!!! I am on the hunt for gun safe sellers/dealers in the DFW area that have good deals. More specifically, I am in the Keller / Fort Worth area. I know about the traditional suppliers such as Cabela's, Home Depot and the like but want to consider more and maybe at cheaper rates. Someone who sells used and scratch and dent are not out of the question either. I'll be looking for something in the 60X28 or larger size.

Give The Safe Company a call & see what they can do for you.

They are really good to work with.

Yes, this is the guy at A&C safes. I've sent him an email to see what he has.

I'm interested hearing how it goes with A&C as well. I'll be in the market for a safe in the next month or two.

These guys are out in Garland, but were great, in my personal experience.

Got a better deal, on a bigger safe, with a higher fire rating, than I expected. Delivered to my house over 70 miles away from them. Apparently they were doing another job in the area, and charged their "in town/local" rate instead of the full delivery cost, saving me even more $$.

The owner spent about an hour and a half walking me around his show room, and even into the warehouse to view safes, failed safes he had recovered, etc.

And lastly, it really is true - buy bigger thank you think you need!

I ended up getting a safe from The Safe Company in Garland. Delivered and bolted to the concrete the next day in Dallas. Great guys to work with.

When I bought my safe, the LGS manager told me to get a bigger one. I didn't. I should have.

The only rule I know is to figure out the biggest safe you could conceivably use and buy a much bigger one. Eventually you will be glad you did.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I can safely say the guys in garland will do you right. I bought one from them last month. The had both new and used safes of all different sizes. Easy to work with very competitive price wise. Both links in above posts will get you there.

Funny... I purchased my AMSEC from this guy a couple years back. Great company to work with. They delivered, bolted down.. even threw in a couple extras at no charge like a golden rod dehumidifier and a light kit installed. PS... get the light kit!!! I would hate when my buddy would use his flashlight fumbling around in his safe looking for stuff.

One more thing... be careful you don't "cheapy" your way into a crappy safe. I went with the BF series.

Oh...check out this thread. I used it when I purchased my safe. A lot of great info on it. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=6705" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I am also looking for a safe. I don't have any long guns at the moment. I would prefer to have the flexibility to store any I obtain, however. I would rather not get one just for handguns only to need to buy another later.

I see a lot of people selling on craigslist, but not sure about buying used. If I could change the combo then it might be ok.

I have seen the "dent and scratches" offerings as well. Has anyone dealt with this company? I think they are called Titan or something.
