I really don't think this is about deterrence. This is about justice. I do not advocate for torture. Just timely justice. When a person kills in cold blood another person (especially an innocent) the very ground cries out for justice.

I don't think the nastier methods of execution are needful. A very simple firing squad would suffice. Cheap, effective, even merciful.

It is either that or you lock them away in a place until everyone and everything that they have ever known and has everyone heard of them has forgotten them. Till they grow to be old men and they have to still pay for their crime and far and away from their crime they die a lonely death of ignominy. A sort of living death.

Killing a baby is capital murder in many if not all states. Killing someone in the course of robbery is also capital murder. A person cannot be executed for a crime committed before age 18 in the U.S. At most they get life in prison without parole.

Ironically, most of the people who die in prison are convicted of things like drug dealing, where they get mandatory minimum sentences longer than their life expectancy. The typical murderer is out in three to five years if he survives prison.

If this man is not executed and is given life without parole it will be in solitary. I understand such crimes are not thought of well behind bars.

We don't know what the plea bargain and resulting sentence might be.

I saw on the news earlier this morning that the mother and aunt of the suspected shooters have been arrested as well...

Wow. Bad hair seems to run in that family—along with soulless eyes.

They were arrested for lying to the police. Presumably they made false statements in order to protect the suspect. Just when you think that we've reached the depth of depravity, these 2 show up & lower the floor another couple of notches. It's bad enough that your son is a cold-blooded, immoral, utterly repugnant individual. But now you're going to lie to protect him???? Justice needs to be swift and severe for all of them!

Not that I disagree with them being arrested for obstruction of justice or impeding an investigation, but its always irked me the while the police can lie to you with impunity, you lying to them is a criminal offense.

Double standard. Misguided ethics. Malformed consciences. Radical judiciary.

You more or less answered your own question.

You can tell the police your favorite color is purple and you prefer pistachio ice cream. The criminal offense is lying about an investigation.

The cops must be able to lie in the course of an investigation, unless you want crimes to proceed without hindrance or go without prosecution. Among the most-often prosecuted areas are solicitation of minors, terrorism, and murder-for-hire. Someone looking to have another person knocked off is more likely to be caught by a police detective than actually find an assassin.

Lying under oath is a perjury . Misrepresenting facts by LEOs is an investigation technique, live with that, it works for your own good.If you prefer you just plea the 5th.

After being arrested the two women provided information to police which led to the discovery of a pistol in the bottom of a pond. Yeah, 1000 percent innocent. Defense is desperately trying to "find" an alibi. Said to be a difficult task in a town with only 15,000 people. Probably also difficult if your guy is the killer. Also child drown in backyard pool already used.

People die wearing a holstered, unfired weapon all the time.

Many things could have been done differently, but the guilt lies with the criminal actors.
