Just called every Academy in greater Houston - no joy. Missed a couple in stock examples by a couple of hours!

Good folks to deal with, but of course, you'll still end up paying shipping and FFL transfer fees.
They have gotten two or three large (50-100 firearms at a time) batches of 9mm shields in over the past couple weeks.

I'm up in Portland a few times/year, but that won't help me right now :-( And besides, I guess while I could buy one in Maine, I couldn't take delivery of it; I'd still have to have it shipped to an FFL anyway?
