That article is fairly accurate. Take a look at this: http://www.nraila.org/News/Read/InTheNews.aspx?ID=9354

This one is worrisome if only because it is wide open for abuse.

I agree. Not so much from this administration, but from a gun-grabber administration. I think it's a bad idea.
The article wrote:At the Justice Department's request, the bill was introduced last week by Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), whom SAF describes as one of the most extreme anti-gunners in Congress.
I am highly suspicious of anything this guy tries to legislate.
The article wrote:There's also a larger concern, Gottlieb added: "When did we decide as a nation that it is a good idea to give a cabinet member the power to deny someone's constitutional right simply on suspicion, without a trial or anything approaching due process?"
This ought to stop it on the grounds of it being unconstitutional.

Janet Reno wouldn't have hesitated to grab.

I hate to tell you guys, but I don't think the Bush administration would have hesitated to use this law either. Look at how he has handled the Padilla case, for example. If he thinks you are a terrorist, for any reason or no reason, he thinks the laws do not apply.

Are "real" terrorists really buying legally purchased and 4473'ed firearms?

It seems like this would close a door that isn't being walked through anyway, at the cost of a civil right.

Lame.

I doubt they are, but if they did try, it would be much better to allow the purchase to go through (and set off alarm bells when the instant check is called in) than it would be to block the sale and notify them at the gun counter that the government is watching them.
