San Antonio PD converts to S&W M&P .40

Post by RiverCity.45 »

Great gun, the M&P .40. I have one myself. The Glockoholics are gonna shake their heads in wonder, I suspect. :boxing

Nothing wrong with the m&p. Great gun. I am a glock guy and wouldn't have any problem carrying the m&p. I do wonder why many departments haven't adopted the xd though. I don't think the xds get enough love! :txflag:

IIRC, Glocks are carried by 65% of the US police departments.

Does anyone know if this is an accurate figure? I may have seen it in a Glock ad....or somewhere.

As a Glock guy I think it is great. More police trade ins at a great price.

Not sure. Maybe gig knows but I wouldn't be surprised if it was more then that in the 90s. Basically until the m&p glock was for the most part unopposed in the Leo polymer market. Sure there were berettas sigs and s&w but really only one major polymer. Glock

Glock has dominated the market a long time. I am sure SW is making some great deals to entice LE depts to carry their weapon. They always had the LEO price for their guns as well as it is free advertising. No different then Glock and others doing it. I've heard good things about the MP.

Oh the .40....sigh..

To each his own. I like my M&P but my Glocks better. Couldn't really quantify why - just a comfort thing from so many rounds through the platform on various calibers.

I have consistently hated the .40 round regardless of what platform was striking the primer.

I also like my glocks and my 40 has saved my life... I'll stick with it.

Hope your buddies aren't so attached. Hoping to pick up some cheap police trade ins.
