I mean, any mil spec bolt will feed and eject the cartridge as it is supposed to right? Now, I know there are different coatings and materials and small details like the gas key staking but for a casual shooter will I ever notice? Are we more talking about the longevity of said bolt?

My current AR is a stock smith except for the trigger and my new build is a complete Adams arms upper. The most strenuous activity I have done thus far has been an AR class where I went through 6-700 rounds in about 3 hours. That will be the worst I ever do. Any need to worry about the manufacturer? I will be building another soon, and really just planned on grabbing the palmetto one linked above. Should I wait for a spikes or other?
Mil Spec is an interesting road to go down. For me, it's a matter of MPI and HPT testing for bolts and barrels. I don't want stress fractured or failures. A BCG is one of the hardest used components in a DI AR system and its a good idea to start with a good one and have a backup.

Mine is the RRA that came with my LAR-15. It was a "Black" one.

In 2011 I bought a complete new RRA Chrome BCG for it (190.00 retail) for 130.00 shipped. Now my "Black" one is my backup.
