I was a bit planning to order a CDS cap for my VX-R 2.5-10x40 scope.
So, I said let me select a good quality all around rd for my 5.56 to be shot in SIG M400.
I selected the following Remington base cartridge: Remington, Power-lokt 223 Rem 55 gr, HP.

Luckily, Remington provides all data needed for the custom CDS

Then, I said let me see, how it would shoot in my SIG 556 with Nikkon Monarch 2.5-10x50 BDC

With no wind correction, I do not know how one could score hits at 8" targets at 300 yrds (forget about 400 yrds) with a 223/556 rd

One more thing,

An 8" target has radius of 4"
if the rife is 1 MOA accurate, that is 4" at 400 yrd or +2" ,or -2" you have a chance to hit with some 1 MOA
if the rife is 2 MOA accurate, that is 8" at 400 yrd or +4, or 4". Unless you hit bullseye, you would miss 50% of the time!
