New Toy for Steel

I have been getting better and better with my R8 for Steel Challenge. I got the bug to add another category, so I picked this little jewel up. Now I am looking for an apropiate holster to try carrying it. What ya think?

M&P 9 CORE with Leupold Delta.....Will be trying a longer ported barrel for competition or possibly a comp, but this is the 4.25 inch which should be fairly easy to carry.

Nice ! Those look like some tall sights ? Which ones are they ? Are they suppressor height ?

M&P CORE sights are set for cowitnessing with an optic like a Docter optic (or the Leupold, etc). They're intended for USPSA competition (or similar). The sights _could_ work with a suppressor, depending on the can, but that's not what they were designed for.

Oldcannon is correct. The tall sights are kind of ugly when you first see them, then when the optic is on it makes perfect sense. In addition a side benefit to me is that the sights on my R8 revolver are tall as well, so the only change in muscle memory is a slight adjustment in grip angle.

Again.. very nice.. I see that it's a pro shop gun.. is the trigger good, or the usual M&P that could benefit from the drop in Apex parts ?

I personally haven't tried the CORE's yet, but I will say this, the last two full sized M&P's I've transferred have what you might call an "improved" feel in their triggers. Kind of like the M&P Shield. Not as solid as Apex, but my personal opinion is that they're nice "out of the box" now.

Mine is improving. The take up on the trigger is a little gritty, but the end of the pull is very crisp and light. I haven't torn into it yet, but I can tell it has to do with the trigger bar rubbing on the slide. WIth the slide off there is no grit, slide on it's gritty. It is better after a few hundred rounds, but needs a little improvement. Shouldn't be a big deal. Compared it to a friend's gun with the Apex and the grit is about all the difference you can tell. Not bad out of the box for sure.
