Before I read the article, my initial reaction was that it was some CHL playing cop.

This was obviously not a hold-up of a checker in a Wal-Mart.

Given the seriousness of the crime, his actions seem well thought out and appropriate. He exited the bank, took cover, and confronted the suspect only enough to delay him till officers could arrive.

The only part that bothers me, is that being forced back inside the bank, the shooter could have continued the slaughter.

maybe so, but the man's actios did prevent the perp from fleeing the scene, to commit atrocities on another day.

we, as a community, can certainly armchair QB this thing :deadhorse:
but the guy did what HE thought was right, followed the law, and MAY have prevented more crime from ocurring.
Kudos to him, and I agree with the Mayor, I, as well, would not recommend anyone to engage.

course, what you do is your own decision.
