CHICAGO, Ill. (IRN) - Gun violence in Chicago is so severe that a state lawmaker wants state police and the National Guard to assist the local cops.

In other words, he wants MORE GUNS brought in to deal with the problem.

Although, hypocritical, it's not as bad as Mayor Doomberg. Remember, he wouldn't let the National Guard come help after Hurricane Sandy because he didn't want them bringing their guns.

So they disarmed their citizens by denying them the natural right to self defense and after all these years they can't make a correlation between unarmed citizens and gun violence in a city where only criminals have been carrying guns for decades.

Are the citizens of Chicago so docile that they would live happily under tyranny by men that rule them? I have never understood why any human would allow the State to do the things it does in direct violation of their Liberty.

Uh, bring in the Guard to do WHAT, exactly?? I grew up in the Chicago 'burbs, and whenever we ventured downtown, we KNEW which neighborhoods to avoid - JUST like the cops do. We were down there for a Cubs game once, and my buddy made a wrong turn trying to navigate across town; we ended up in Cabrini Green. In the course of a few blocks we saw several fights, hookers, dudes "exchanging" money for goods, etc. etc. Told my buddy to blow through the stop signs and get out of there before we were noticed. As we exited the DMZ that exists around "The Green", we passed 3 cop cars (and yes, they WERE at a donut shop) - THEY could see what we saw, but had ZERO interest in going in there.

As we all know, the police, residents and politicians KNOW where the bad guys are, and WHO they are, but will NEVER go round them up. I'm sure it must be some kind of voter/racial/civil rights issue or something ;). So, failing the backbone/motivation to truly solve the problem by cleaning out the known rats nests, again, what exactly would the Guard do there? Would only make sense if the rats nests and rats were specifically identified, and the Guard were mobilized to clean them out. Absent that, it's just another step toward martial law......
