Enlisted & under 21. Want to get CHL, not sure if i can

I just recently enlisted with the NG. I read that i can get my CHL since i am 19 and enlisted. The thing i am not sure about is when i can get it. I wont be going to Basic till the end of August, and i was wondering if i could take the course before Basic? Or do i have to wait till after Basic/AIT?

I would say that you would have to wait until after basic. Seeing as you are not yet an active member of the NG.

You can take the course now, even if you don't send in your application until later.

I wouldn't think so. As soon as you've signed the contract and have a military ID card, I believe you're eligible.
