This is a fun fact I learned from watching the Zimmerman trial. Trayvon Martin did not even have iced tea when he was shot. Unlike the mobs out on the streets, I saw the real evidence when watching the trial, rather than listen to biased media reports and so called civil rights leaders.

I'm not sure if you're joking or not, but any type of over-the-counter cough syrup that contains dextromethorphan (DXM) is the third ingredient.

I have no experience with drugs though, so I can't comment on mixtures, amounts, potency and such.

Here in houston where it originated they use sprite jolly rancher candy and codiene/phenergan cough syrup . It's also called purple drank

Served on a jury here in Houston and someone had mentioned that drugs were involved. Looking at the pictures I didn't understand till it was pointed out that they were using Big Red soda and mixing it with codeine to drink. Never knew that before, guess I live in a sheltered world.

Not that I'm aware of, but I didn't follow it as closely as some.

I think the drink and candy is to add enough sweetness to the cough syrup so it won't be so hard to get down. Can you imagine trying to drink a half a bottle of cough syrup in one sitting. Yuck!
