Looking For A Gun..

Post by snatchel »

Been a while since I posted. I've been busy with work and all.

Anyway. I'm looking at buying a 1911 in commander length in the near future. I've narrowed it down to the SR1911 or an STI Shadow II. Problem is, i'm having a hard time finding anything. I've been to the LGS's -- no dice. So i've been looking online. I don't mind paying for it, but I know they can be had under 1K. Anyone?

I have seen the ruger Sr1911 commander in every academy store I've been to in the last week. They just started stocking them. $749 NIB

Call STI directly, as they will likely point you to a dealer that has one. I did when I wanted a particular model and the sales guy gave me some specific dealers to call that had ordered them for stock. I also saw several shadow's on gunbroker. (I'm not familiar with a shadow II)

You will be hard-pressed to beat Academy's prices/package. I think $729 was the actual price in San Antonio. I also saw the Ruger SR45 for $449 at all Academy's.

I agree. Academy has good prices. I havent shot the Sr1911. But from what I read & hear there great for the price. I really like the way the guns fells & looks. :thumbs2:
It was one of the SA Academys where I also saw it. Yep! That was the price. SW Military Academy.

Forget all those. Get a Wesson CBOB or find a bobbed version. It's the only way to fly.

Abilene Indoor Gun Range had a lot of STI's in stock a week ago, you might give them a call.
