I've found one for $49.00 and free freight, plus Texas tax.
Anyway, do you use one or would you recommend a different one?
I'll be using it to clean my beautiful new AR.
Thanks!

I've used a Decker vise for years, but I don't know if you can get them anymore.
I'd use the Tipton vise if I couldn't get a Decker.

I have one. The Best Gun Vise, I think. It was a gift and I haven't gotten comfortable with it very much yet. It works okay, but sometimes I just like to take the gun apart and lay it on a mat. Also, I don't use cleaning rods for the barrels. I have snakes.
I am not and have never been a LEO. My avatar is in honor of my friend, Dallas Police Sargent Michael Smith, who was murdered along with four other officers in Dallas on 7.7.2016.

The Tipton Best Gun Vise is very versatile, although it would be more honest to call it a Tipton Best Gun Holder. At $49, that's a good price. Most of the time, mine is employed to cradle my Savage 300WM (when it's not at the range).
I don't fear guns; I fear voters and politicians that fear guns.

I use the Tipton vise. I like it for scope mounting and other minor work.
It is not designed to be a platform for times when serious torque is needed. I have a real vise for that.

I use mine for cleaning, mounting scopes etc. $49 w/free shipping is a good price. For any serious work I use a bench vise with heavy leather pads. I just took the barrel off a Marlin .22 to replace the cartridge guide and the Tipton would not be suitable.

I've been looking at this one.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004N0 ... PDKIKX0DER
It has a post that fits in the mag well of the AR.
More portable for taking to the range.

Guns are like parachutes, if your ever in a situation that you need one and you dont have one, you'll probably never need one again.
