Springfield XDs 9mm--+P OK or Not?

Post by Blindref757 »

I bought one this week...going to the range tomorrow. I've searched the website and read the manual 3x. I can't find any info about +P ammo. Anyone have any ideas if it is rated for Hornaday Critical Duty?

As long as its not a steady diet of +P I think it will be OK.. I had a XDM Compact 9 and it would eat +P with no issues.

1)Treat firearms as if they are loaded. 2)Point the muzzle away from non-targets.
3)Keep fingers off the trigger until ready to shoot. 4)Be sure of your target and backstop.

I can't afford a steady diet of those!

I have a XD SC9 and it is rated for +P...but it is a lot beefier than the XDs. I figure that if it were not OK, they would be sure to tell me...but would hate to have an issue or void my warranty by being ignorant. I know this forum is full of people who are much smarter and more connected than I. Hoping to draw on that knowledge! Thanks for your input!

Almost any handgun of recent vintage will handle +P and +P+ ammo with no issues whatsoever. The only exceptions will be some of the cheap subcompacts.
