Ran across another IWB recently http://aliengearholsters.com/index.php/home" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; that have a reasonable bit of pricing and concept for multiple pistols to use same leather backing and just swapping out shell. It's similar in design to the CrossBreed design except heavier leather and Kydex for one heck of a lot less money. Have heard some good things about them, but haven't ordered one as yet. Expect I will give them a try since I'm kind of a holster addict.
Can't tell by the picture, if the handle is also covered by the leather...
Thye holster in the link is awesome!!! :clapping:
I agree. I am going to get a couple of these as back-up holsters. I don't really need them, but I want them! :txflag:

If you're referring to the Alien - no it does not - it is like the CrossBreed. That "no contact" was in reference only to the Kholster design
That's what I thought... A little disappointing, but I will still get them for cooler months... I can't help myself...

After perusing the Alien web site for a few weeks, I talked myself into ordering one for my new PT92 and a shell only for another series of pistols that will cover about 8 of my guns with one leather backing. I've also got my fingers crossed that the PT92 shell will also accept my Tisas Zigana Sport. What I found interesting is that if I change pistols, Alien will exchange the shell for free (if I understood their site info correctly).

Sounds like they are very accommodating. This is exactly why I love the Kholster — it's not just a high quality affordable product, Jimmy personally takes care of Customer Service expediently and politely. Seems like a really nice guy. I am still going to try out the Alien Gear. I wish they had a version that blocks the grip with leather — for our Texas Summer months, which are April through October...

I spread the wealth today - also bought a Khoster Crescent for my M&P40C which had been riding in one that wasn't quite right.

Kholster has been good to me and Jimmy has gone far beyond what others probably would to keep me happy - Today's order will be my 4th (3-Crescents and 1-Little Moon)

I have been impressed by Jimmy's work ethics and customer service, too. Got 4 holsters from him and couldn't be happier. He goes out of his way answering any and all emails and keeping his customers happy.

I think, since you can cut them into any shape you want and dye them black or any other color, they are only as big and ugly as you want them to be. You can cut them and dye them to mimic any other brand, icluding $125 ones, that don't offer as much benefits. For such an excellent price with lifetime warranty that covers even modified holsters, it is great! I am never buying any other holster for my guns.

That's just my opinion...
:iagree: All true. I cut mine to give a good firing grip. I meant it was big and "ugly" as it's basic unaltered look compared to some of the tricked out holsters available on the market for a lot more money. That big circle of leather gives you lots of options for the cant you want to wear it that other holsters don't. It also gives more flexibility for how you want to customize it for your gun. I like mine a lot and will buy more so it was not meant as a disparagement of the product.

Oh, no... I didn't think you were being negative about Kholster. I was just expressing my excitement about having one. Recently, I came across another GREAT brand for only $29 - with the lifetime warranty, adjustments and all other features of Kholster, EXCEPT their leather doesn't cover the grip. It is pre-cut, looks great, the price is amazing... They also send you replacement parts and let you exchange the Kydex shells for free, if you want to switch guns (although, I don't need this specific service, because, unless my family starves, I am keeping AND CARRYING all my guns). They seem like a great outfit, and they would have been my first choice, IF they had an option to shield the grip with their leather. For now, they'll just have to settle for being my number 2. I am sure, they can learn to live with that.:

I was just as impressed with their services as I was with Jimmy's at Kholster.

Great to hear from someone with years of experience. I have only used it for a couple of weeks, and I am impressed with it more and more. I expected it to be a great holster to last for years, especially since they provide a lifetime warranty, but it is still good to hear it from others.

I have been doing modifications on mine, and I sent a letter to Jimmy, asking him if it would my warranty, when I cut off the Kholster brand. Here is what he wrote back:
"Thank you for your message. Nothing you do to it will void the warranty or return policy. Cut it. Smash it. Dye it. Cook it. Let your dog use it as a chew toy. We will always cover the product under our warranty and you have 90 days to return it no questions asked. All you pay is the return shipping. So have at it and let me know how it turns out.

Cheers!

Jimmy

I am going to get a Kholster after reading all these posts. Believe me, after 16 or 17 years I have gone through a bunch of holsters. Currently use White Hat in both IWB & OWB with 5 Kydex carriers that interchange between the 2 leathers. Takes care of 5 different guns depending on my frame of mind. :txflag:

I don't think you'll regret it. I can't imagine higher quality of craftsmanship and durability. No tax. Free shipping. Lifetime warranty.

If you've made up your mind — get it before September 1st. That's when their summer $5-10 off deals end (on everything as far as I could tell) — it's about 20% off ($49.99 is $39.99).

Another neat trick: buy your first item separately. Once you pay for it, you get a receipt in your email. On the receipt you get a coupon code for 10% off (with each item you buy). So, when you make your next purchase of one item or several at once - you will get an additional 10% discount. The last one I got - I gave to a friend. And you can do the same. So, on my first holster I got 20% off, and on the next three I got the 20% AND an additional 10% off. It's a steal, and Jimmy knows it, but he is glad people are buying. I am happy to tell all about it...

A great choice!

OK ATDM. I just ordered one. We will see how it compares. Through the years, I have bought, sold, traded, given away, and been given more holsters than the law allows. I am curious as to how this one will be once broken in.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Anyone know what the turnaround is on the AlienGear holsters? Their site doesn't give any estimated time frame.
