Academy Ammo Rules change

Post by Teamless »

I was at Academy in Webster today,
They said that as of now, they only restrict sales of 9mm and .22 caliber ammo, and only those 2 ammo calibers are kept behind the counter.
9mm and .22 still have a 2 box limit per person per day

The rest of the ammo has been placed back in the normal section of store by Hunting and Fishing, and there are no restrictions on quantity.

Saw the same sign at the Grapevine Academy and there was 45 and 5.56 on the shelves to prove it. :anamatedbanana

Hope this is a sign that the drought may be nearing its end!!

All three Academy stores I visited recently had the same signs. I posted about it. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=68554 What I noticed was they had at least 20 feet of cased ammunition 4 feet high 3-4 cases deep on the back wall. There was pistol caliber, rifle caliber (lots of .223) and shotgun being stored there. The shelves were full but they had 10-12 facings of 30/06 and .270 socked 10-12 on 4 shelves top to bottom. Had maybe two or three .223 on one shelf on the other side of the aisle with some pistol ammo. Many many shells were mis-merchandised with incorrect tags beneath them. It was a mess at that particular store with all the back stock, but it's not much better at the others I visited, Sort of like Home Depot's theory of merchandising. If there's an empty slot put anything in it to fill it, don't worry that it's not the correct item. It may be inventory control AND merchandising/stocking issues.
