M&P 9c + Theis Holster
been saving my pennies for a 9c, but keep running across goodies for it. first it was a 32 round promag at cabela's, then a theis holster for it (shipped today after 2.5 weeks), then somehow convinced a forum member to part with a 17 rnd mag + xgrip. he may never know how much i appreciate the chance to get a hold of one of those things - it honestly felt like i had a scored a sack of golden unicorn tears. now i 'just' need to get a hold of the pistola. not the first thing i've done backwards in my life, though it usually works out in the end...

You will make it. I bet that Forum member knows how much you appreciate it because I bet someone has done that for him once or twice.
That is what makes our community so great.
That is how I managed to get my M&P 45c. Started out with extra magazine. One of our Forum members makes great holsters (http://mojogunleather.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; MoJoeWrkn). Then I bought me a 10 round magazine with the Xgrip and the pistol finally showed up this week.
Just do not forget to share the pictures when you get it all together.

Re: M&P 9c + Theis Holster
My 9c was my first firearm purchase a little over a year and a half ago. I did everything in order with it, starting with the gun itself, some ammo, then a training class, CHL class, holsters and mags. I'm lucky enough to have two of the 17 rounders with x-grips in addition to the 6 12 rounders with pinkie extensions. With my next big gun purchase I did it totally backwards. I was having trouble finding the exact AR I wanted so in the meantime I picked up mags, a sling, a foregrip, and ammo. By the time I got the rifle I had over 1000 rounds of ammo, 6 mags, a soft case and some other stuff.

A 17 round magazine is going to make it a little more difficult to conceal; I only use my 17 mag for fun at the range. The 12 round mag with the finger extension is perfect for carry (for me anyway.) Love my 9c

While that can be true, I carry a full size M&P9 (17+1) all the time in my IWB Crossbreed, with just a light T-shirt cover (no printing and no, its not sized way to large or long)johncanfield wrote:A 17 round magazine is going to make it a little more difficult to conceal;
I also conceal OWB in my Crossbreed Slide, with just a light 'fishing' shirt over it and a T-shirt under it.

I've been in the same situation - had my heart set on a Glock 27. Bought a holster, mag extensions and a bunch of pieces waiting on the right deal for a 27.. Needless to say, I ended up with a bunch of Glock parts and an SR40c.. Off to ebay/gun range the parts went. Now, next in line is a MP40c, which I should have soon. Learned my lesson though - picking this one up with a TON of accessories at the same time..

Yeah, the 17 and 32 round mags are going to be range toys. I've been carrying an LC9 for close to two years and I'm not sure how I'll feel about the extra thickness and weight, but I'm going to give it a try. While I don't quite need/want 'deep' concealment, an accidental exposure in my line of work would result in some unwanted conversations with clients and my contracting agency. I think the M&P9c is going to be just fine, but carrying with a 17round mag probably won't happen all that often.johncanfield wrote:A 17 round magazine is going to make it a little more difficult to conceal; I only use my 17 mag for fun at the range. The thought of waffling and setting my sights on something else is a bit of a concern in doing this backwards. I figure these goodies won't be too hard to sell for what I've got in them, with the exception of maybe the holster, and I'd be happy to pass along the sack of golden unicorn tears to another forum member here. Hopefully that won't happen though - I've spent plenty of time handling/shooting/pricing/comparing/etc guns in this class, and I'm fairly settled in.

I carry my 9c with the 12 round w/pinkie extension too but carry the 17 rounder on my weak side in a velcro belt pouch as a backup.spolct wrote:Yeah, the 17 and 32 round mags are going to be range toys. That's a pretty good idea. I've been carrying my extra 12 rounder in my left pants pocket which is hard on the pocket and the mag collects lint.Kadelic wrote:..I carry my 9c with the 12 round w/pinkie extension too but carry the 17 rounder on my weak side in a velcro belt pouch as a backup.
On a side note, I discovered my cell phone holster's clip won't open up enough to clip on my 1/4" thick Bullhide belt

I carry a spare magazine in my pocket from time to time, but I use a pocket magazine holder. It solves the lent problem and keeps the magazine from tumbling in the pocket.
