I worry more about the pistol feeding the ammo than the ammo itself. I always run one or two mags of SD JHP ammo thru my CCW's when at the range. I use WWB Personal Protection Series which is quite reasonable in price (9mm 147gr and 40 S&W 180gr.). It feeds and shoots well in all my CCW's. Bought box of 50 9mm recently for less than $20 including tax.

This exactly what I do.

August the 29 every year I change out my carry ammo, shoot what is in the magazine, and then change my windshield wipers. If not I forget when I did the ammo and I do not think of the wipers until it rains.

I think I'm going to do the same. Birthday is a good way to know it's a year old. Sounds like a plan!!! :biggrinjester:
I want to thank everybody for sharing with me! :cheers2:

I still have several hundred Black Talons in .45, they go bang just fine.

Please someone delete this thread. Ammo expires when fired, gets a second chance when reloaded. End of Story.

You can add: Shamefully, I lost a brand new 20rd 9mm PX4 Magazine full of fresh 124 gr. +P Gold Dots and to top it off, with a grip extension for Sub Compact. :mad5

I fired WW2 issued ammo in the mid 90's without a problem. It depends if ammo is stored in a dry environment. If it got wet for whatever reason I'd be careful. Good advice may be to check for corrosion, oxidation or discoloration on the outside of the casing. I also remember buying some Israeli ammo, about 20 years old. I had a problem with it. The box had some discoloration but the cases looked good.

I have shot ammo that has been loaded up, carried around, and sweated on for five years and had zero problems.
