Men with rifles charged in 'open carry' demonstration.

Post by ATDM »

I can't seem to find the current status of the situation. Three men with rifles in an open carry demonstration were charged with disorderly conduct outside the Starbucks in San Antonio 5 days ago.

San Antonio cops (at least, some of them) are either ignorant of the firearms laws in Texas, or they are being pawns in someone's political games. I hope they get reprimanded.

Is there any legal action possible against these police officers and their superiors? If yes, do you think it will be pursued?

Dis orderly conduct and disturbing the peace will get your CHL yanked
I think it is a plot to get rid of CHL

No, just a plot to keep CHLers who support OCing from ever demonstrating. One of the many problems with getting support for an OC bill.

CHLers- won't demonstrate with long guns due to the fact they might lose their CHL.

CHL Instructors- (some, not all, if you are offended by this you might be the some..) won't support unlicensed OCing as it could have a negative impact on their income.

Politicians- won't support OC because somehow, even in this great state of Texas, showing 100% support for the Constituion of the US has become passe'.

Similar demonstration planned for Weatherford this coming Saturday. PD is preparing for it. Hope everyone "stays calm".
