Texas A & M - gun stored in car - legal?

Post by dlcrouch »

Headed to CS this weekend for the NCAA baseball regionals and thought I'd bring my guns and catch some range time when not at a game. I'm staying in a hotel and don't want to leave my guns in the room, so they'll be unloaded and locked in my car.
Is there a rule about guns on Texas college campuses in general or A & M in particular? I know the odds of having my car searched are pretty slim, but i don't need the hassle.

If your a CHL holder, then you can have your guns locked in your vehicle and out of sight.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.

Leave your gun locked in the car, and you will be perfectly legal parked at a college campus.

Even for Aggies.

Yes even in the garages. Just not IN any bldg. That's what UPD told me when I was a student there a couple of years back.

You can even carry it with you ON campus as long as you stay on walkways, streets, etc. (basically outside any building) - oh yeah... and as long as there isn't an official school sponsored even going on in the area you're carrying.

But yes, as others have said - your car is A-OK.

It had better be ok, I had one in my car every day I went there. And several times strolling through campus I was armed.
