Break in a new gun for lady or let her have the fist shots?

Post by x007x »

Hello I am buying a gun for my lady for our anniversary and I debating if I should break in the gun for her or let her have the first shots. It is a Glock 19 and I used to have one and she really liked it. She does not shoot very much at all, but I wanted to get her one for protection at home. I was thinking if it was already broken in that it would be easier to handle. What is your opinion?
Thanks.

I would say let her have the first shots. I am looking at getting my Lovely and new one as well, and if I were to have the pleasure of shooting it before her I would never hear the end of it. JMHO

Glocks generally don't have a break in period. Just give it to her.

Or better yet, have a date night at the range and put those first rounds through it together!

Date night would work well, since I work at a gun store/gun range.

:iagree: Let her heve the first shots. That is a perfect size gun & 9mm low recoil I think they have that in Gen 4 now.

My wife and I have a deal. I can get whatever gun I want, so long as she get to shoot it first (and claim it as hers if she likes it). :biggrinjester:

Count one more +1 for letting her be the one to "break in" the new pistol.

THIS.........although your intentions are good, I'd want to put the first shots through my new gun.

Congratulations, if it was for my wife and I shot it first her first shots with it might be at me.

Uh huh. That's the myth - the reality is different:

I don't care what it is - run rounds through it till you're confident it works properly. Assuming "It's just gonna work" is as bad as assuming "it's not loaded", IMNSHO.
