Why Nobody Is Talking About the Navy Yard Shooter...

Post by RoyGBiv »

Our Truest Lies

Emphasis added....
.......... over the course of the week, it was slowly learned that the unhinged Alexis had somehow passed at least two background checks, legally bought a shotgun, modified it, and for 30 minutes shot and reloaded it to slaughter the innocent. Are we to outlaw the owning of shotguns despite background checks and lawful purchases? Vice President Joe Biden, remember, had recently urged Americans to obtain old-fashioned, all-American shotguns for protection rather than dangerous semi-automatic assault rifles. If a shotgun could be used to commit mass murder in the middle of a military installation, how could any gun-control law, short of the confiscation of all guns, ensure that such heinous crimes could not be repeated?
........Much snippage.........
We are left not with the truth that Aaron Alexis bought a shotgun to murder, but with the conjecture that he could have bought legally an AR-15 and therefore in some sense figuratively did — despite the later and less publicized corrections.

Yeah, but Joe Biden is a hypocritical moron who nobody takes seriously.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

I have yet to meet a Liberal that does not take him seriously and even worship him for being a 'stand-up' guy.

He is definitely an upstanding idiot.

The quality of Victor Davis Hanson's scholarly work is impeccable and beyond question. Once again, he is right on. Curiously, he is a life-long democrat. I'm baffled as to why he has not left the party, since it is absolutely in thrall to the very progressives he despises.

So we all want to respect the victims' familes and not pretend this wasn't an extremely sad tragedy. However, why isn't anyone criticizing the media for their attempt to make this a new, hot gun topic, then dropping it when it wasn't spicy enough?

I was truly moved by the situation, then had to fight back anger when I watched CNN, Fox and all the others scramble to be the first to say it was a long black gun, or assault rifle, or "AR type" weapon, or Glock, or whatever catches the uninformed eyes of the general public. All the while, they were totally wrong...

I watched an early interview with one of the doctors, who was asked "did the wounds appear to have come from a semi-auto rifle?" How the heck would he know that?

I watched the trauma surgeon, who they tried to label with the tag line "put me out of business". She made some valid points - no one would encourage violence, right? Yet, the news channel put "Doctor against guns" on the screen while she spoke - and the entire time, she never said she was against guns. They baited her with a question of to the effect of "why do you thing these senseless mass shooting happen so frequently", and she went on to make a great argument about mental health issues in the U.S. Then, the interview abruptly ended. I guess she didn't say the right things to attract enough attention from anti-gunners.

And then, I watch the worse of all, Piers Morgan pretend to interview 3 pro-gunners, while he put on his own Alex Jones act and shouted over their every word. Nice job, Piers, way to get the full story from your guests.

One word: This shooting proves one thing: Gun Control measures does NOT work:

The shooter had:
1) Clean background check
2) Procured his shotgun legally with a valid background check.
3) Had Valid Security Clearance
4) Had Valid Secured site access.
5) Used a simple pump shotgun

What gun control, Mr. Piers Morgan would like to add?!!

NRA is right, Mr. Piers Morgan and his look-alike are wrong!
