Here is an account of an everyday guy and his gun saving an American family from execution. The article is neither pro or anti gun. Im willing to bet more stories will surface like this."From what they were doing, you could tell that these were not normal people. The fact that he was making a joke out of this whole thing made me much more angry and determined to engage them, and to shame them."
Mr Haji said his father taught him to use a gun to protect their cattle from bandits when he was growing up.
Last Saturday, he used his skills to provide fire cover for the Kenyan Red Cross workers and, over a period of three hours, help to evacuate some of the 1,000 people who escaped the mall in the initial stages of a siege that would last three days and leave at least 72 people dead.

What a wonderful human being among the many unnamed who ran towards gunfire. They have many brave people in Kenya, they should be proud of the way their citizens responded. Amazing that you have regular citizens running in with police.
Do you think that would happen here? I'm afraid we'd be taken out as the BG. But they say the first 6 minutes are the most crucial.

If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?

Good for him.
I ran across this article yesterday: http://www.independent.ie/irish-news/my ... 08137.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It starts out talking about "the Irish Hero," apparently a former Irish Army guy, but reading into the article it says he tagged up with three others, they got guns from "two Asian men," and went back inside to cover and evacuate people. I wonder if one of the four was the former-Royal-Marine-possibly-former-SAS guy mentioned in other threads. Kind of sounds like there was an off-duty team of security contractors at the mall, and when the bad stuff started, they got their firearms and went to work.
So there were a number of people besides the regular police and army engaging the terrorists. Jolly good show.

Beiruty, I think you will find very few Americans that think there are no good Muslims or that all Muslims are on the wrong side. I think you'll find a lot of Americans, myself included, who are disappointed by the tepid response to the evil perpetrated against other human beings by the so-called jihadists. The truth is, they kill far more Muslims and terrify far more Muslims, than they do any other sect, nationality, whatever. Yet you don't see Muslims rising up in large numbers to fight them, criticize them or even complain about their evil. That's why, when one does, it's so noteworthy.Beiruty wrote:You see, not all Muslims are on the wrong side, here an example where the good guy run toward the trouble.Rrash wrote:Wow. Most Muslims seem a lot like the Europeans before WWII - content to remain silent and appease evil until it finally reaches their doorstep. You would think that the world would have learned a lesson from the events leading up to WWII, but it's clear that most have not. Evil can only successfully be resisted with overwhelming force.
The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison

That is a very good man. He did a great job helping those folks. No matter that he and I would disagree on our religious beliefs, I hope that the Good Lord will watch over him and give him the help he may need some day.
