Finally gave in to the dreaded "Rimfire Benchrest" disease.

The Mossberg 144 shared a birthday with me in 1949.

Learned a lot today.

1. Don't shoot late in the day due to wind.

2. Wind can REALLY affect accuracy with subsonic bullets.

3. The Mossy likes Wolf Match Target.

4. Making tight little groups is fun and quite the challenge.

Great rifle! I have one just like it, except mine still has the original Lyman target sights. I never had a T-bolt.

My dad bought mine in the early 60s and I used it to learn target shooting. I earned many NRA marksmanship medals with it.

I got all the way to sharpshooter, I still have the medal, but was never consistent enough to make it to the Distinguished level.

I'll bet that Ol' Doc refinished the stock.

Thanks, I joined a while back, and they've been very helpful.

J&G Sales has a few bricks for about twice the normal price.

Then I found four bricks on about page 8 of a Google search. Bought all they had.
