Found this anti CHL site. Has anyone else seen it?

I find this site disturbing. http://www.vpc.org/ccwkillers.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Not because of what it says but the fact that it's out there and what they are trying to do to CHL holders and make the general public believe. Propaganda.

I hope there are sites that counteract their claim and I just don't know about them. I would love to find some good statistics and put up a site to show that CHL holders are much less likely to commit crime much less homicide than the general public.

In Texas as per DPS statistics, CHL are at least more than 9X likely not to commit any crime, a felony than the general population.
For said website, the documented incidents with no per 100,000 rates, indicated numbers are meaningless. There is no comparison to LEO population who carry daily, and the general population who may not carry daily.

Are their numbers accurate? 14 law enforcement officers have been killed by CHL's. Seems I would have remembered one of them.

For example 27 law enforcement officers were killed in the line of duty by gunfire in 2012. Seems that it would have been big news, if one of the deaths was at the hands of a CHL.

A quick search for information only brings up people pointing to the site in question.

If you click the statistics they list the cases with names and dates plus a description of what happened. Some of them sound pretty far out.

The license (in Texas and most states that issue them) requires a background check to see if you have a history of breaking the law. It is no guarantee that you will not break the law in the future. What is impossible to know is how many of those killings would have happened even if the offender did not have a license?
If you look at the number of homicides nationwide during the same time frame (about 6 1/2 years) in which a CHL holder was not responsible the total is dramatically higher than 540. For example, there were just over 500 homicides in the city of Chicago in 2012 alone, and zero licensed carriers.

Just on the issue of "LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS KILLED BY CONCEALED CARRY KILLERS"

In Case #2; Delgado was objecting to the search when the officer tried to use physical force to take him down. It was during the struggle that the officer was shot.

In Case #3; Wonder has never been convicted, it is entirely possible that the incident was started by the Border Patrol Agent and that Wonder pulled into the Post Office parking lot to escape the situation, only to be followed by the aggressor, "innocent until proven guilty" 14 -1 =13.

In Case #5; the supposed shooter has never been convicted, see above, 13 -1 = 12.

In Case #6; Bryan was a Department of Corrections officer, who was issued a gun as part of his job, but in accordance with NY State law, he had to obtain a NY Pistol Carry Permit to carry the gun off the job (including to and from work) and did so. One must assume that in a state where such laws have existed since 1913, they know how to do background checks and such. I see this as more a LEO killing a LEO, which should be in a separate column. 12 -1 = 11.

In Case #9; it was questionable whether the people invading Korbe's home had ever identified themselves, which is why the prosecution settled for "voluntary manslaughter" in a plea deal. 11 -1 = 10.

And of course, although they state that there are 14 cases, they only present "vignettes" for 10 of them. 10 -4 = 6.

And also of course, we know that VPC is always honest and above board, right?

So using VPC's own strategy, we should only count people who were actually convicted, not those who were killed by police, others, or committed suicide, right?

The VPC has a long history of spreading fertilizer. They are infamous for "studies" that result from google searches, then throwing up unverified info, first (wrong) reports, and general nonsense as "proof" that gunowners are dangerous and CHLers are homicidal maniacs.

Why do you even subject yourself to reading this stuff. There are plenty of websites for holocaust deniers, moon-landing deniers, 9/11 truthers, and flat earthers to stare at without causing your blood to boil.

This is just one more website made up of nothing but selectively crafted lies. I won't even look at it. . . . .not even for a minute. However, I DO wish for each and every one of their members and leadership a bitter moment in which they suddenly realize that if they'd just had a gun, they might have lived longer. It gives me no comfort to think that might be their final and last conscious moment, because they're the only ones who'll know it, but I wish for each of them to have that moment of terror. . . . . . .just before a "concealed carry killer" steps in and saves their bacon.
