The only way I can see this .30 round "chambering" in a .223 is if the bullet was compressed into the case when the bolt closed.

the "o-give" might have lined up to work with the .223, so who knows. Depends on the .300blk round and seating depth.

When comparing the rounds it's feasible that the .300 BLK case could fit in the chamber only with the bullet compressed into the case. The bullet would only enter the shoulder portion of a .223 chamber to the point the ogive matches the chamber neck diameter. Here's a picture of a .223 w/ .300BLK on each side. The round on the right with no neck crimp could easily allow the bullet to be pushed rearward.
