A pastor I knew was deathly afraid of needles. He managed to conquer his fear of medical things enough to make his hospital visits...but just barely.

One night he dreamed he was getting an injection. He woke up, sat up, and passed smooth out and fell out of the bed!

I used to have fire, rescue, and ambulance dreams, still do to some small extent, and some combined flashbacks.

I dreamed I put my Glock in a pumpkin, and at midnight it became a Kimber 1911.

Seriously, I've had those same dreams several times of either my gun not firing, or me not being able to unholster. A few times, I have been behind a machine gun and firing away, but the bullets had no effect on the insurgents. Two recurring dreams I have also had were I could not run no matter how hard I try, and that there are snakes all around me in bed and I can't get away from them. *I think the latter started in Boy Scouts with a prank we used to play on each other.

I've had terrifying dreams where I've been chased or attacked by people or animals, including snakes. I've generally awakened with my arms pinned and asleep.

It seems a lot of people have similar dreams. I'm not particularly afraid of snakes when I'm awake.

I have noticed a big difference from my dream and all of the others.

In mine, the only thing that went wrong was the fact that I had to kill 3 ppl. However, in mine too, when asked afterwards how I was doing my reply was along the lines of, "I feel sorry I had to do it, but I had no other choice and there is nothing I can do to change that.

In most of the the other dreams, everyone seems to have some sort of malfunction, be it the gun, bullets, or your legs.

I do find these diiferences strange.

I can only Pray that if things go down, I can react as I did in my dream.
Without HESITATION.

I took my CHL class about a month after I was shot at (attempted robbery). man, I had dreams every single night for a long time.
after several months the dreams became less frequent, the inablity to sleep subsided, and things normalized (well, can't say I'm normal  )
the dreams typically consisted of ineffective bullets. I could shoot my attackers multiple times, with no result.
I figger that it was a conveyance of my feeling of powerlessness (yes, that's a word), in my particular situation.
I believe that over time, as my feelings of powerlessness (see I used it again!) have faded, so have the dreams that accompany them.

course, I ain't no Skinner

No dreams associated with CHL, but when I was in the military overseas I had recurring dreams about not spotting the ambush until too late. I would spot the rifle and start to bring mine up, but I was always too slow and would see the AK firing. I always woke up at that point and had a heck of a time going back to sleep since the dream seemed so real. The funny thing is the dream always happened back at base, never in the field. :???:

I spent 2 tours thinking it was a premonition, not a dream…obviously it turned out to just be a dream. Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised

I read this on Sunday, and that night I dreamed that I had to do a "tap, rack, bang" but the slide flew off on the tap!

I also had my first CHL-related dream after reading this thread. It was related to the fact that I can't carry (according to my lease) at home. I had a dream that I was in my bedroom, and needed my pistol due to an armed intruder. It was locked up in my van, however, as it always is (for another month until I move, anyway). I don't remember the conclusion to the dream, but it was certainly a bad feeling to lack the means to defend myself effectively.

wow, what a relief. Glad I'm not the only one that has these dreams, especially the ones where nothing works on my firearm.

This is very interesting. I am so sorry to cause you these dreams, but it kinda go back to what I said about something that is goin on in your life causing dreams. My dream trigger is usually something really exciting or something very stressful

Even in my dreams, I'm a lousy shot with pistols.
