handy with any handgun?

So I have carried my Glock 27 for 2 years or longer now. I can draw and "point" at my target and be dead on with what I intend to shoot. When home alone I walk around the house and draw from concealment and have small objects I use to judge. I use a 3 dot mepro light all green sight set. I recently got to work with a glock 17 and 19 with the same setup and was just....off...with both. I had to adjust several times AFTER the draw. Is this normal? It opened my eyes to how familiar I was with my gun.

I am looking at going with something less traditional next time around like XS big dot or I think Trijicon has a larger front sight they just introduced. Anyways my point is I am wondering if I should stay 3 dot and figure out why I had such an issue with the larger guns?

I'm a little surprised at the difference since they are all Glocks, but you are used to the 27 compared to the others with longer sight radii. Maybe that's all it was. I practice the same kind of drill with my 21 and 30 to try and decrease the time to my first shot. I haven't practiced at the range with a shot timer yet to know if there's much of a difference, but they seem about the same. I really need to get a shot timer so I can see for sure.

I do kinda the same. Doesn't take too long to adjust, but like with most things, I have my favorites. I am so comfortable with my EDC that I rarely change for this and a few other reasons.

They may be "all Glocks," but they're NOT the same grip. The palmswell at the heel of the smaller Glocks is considerably higher in the hand than the larger. This, combined with the different balance from the shorter slide, could well affect your "instinctive" point of aim. I doubt it has much to do with the sights; your hand's just trying to adjust to the larger grip.

I have been reading up one sight radius and the noticeable differences that can appear with a longer sight radius. It is making me wonder if how accurate my shots really would be drawing from a holster.

I wonder the same thing. I haven't had the opportunity to shoot match type scenarios, but I'm hoping to try to get a feel how my reactive shooting skills (or lack there of) may play out.

Still, as far as concealed carry and personal protection scenarios go, I think you'll be fine since most situations would be at close range.
