I am not sure about English, but in Arabic, the term "piece" is female, however, Pistol is male. In any case, "Pick it up" works for me.

The pistol in the photo is sweet as sweet potato can be.

It's beautiful pistol - That said, I keep reading on another site that if you're gonna buy a 1911, better buy a Colt for assured dependability.

I'm not saying that. In fact, I had a 45 cal. Colt Commander in years gone by and it never stopped giving me problems. I borrowed a friends Colt 1911, put a hundred rounds through it, same thing, many problems. So I'm kinda leery of 1911's, no matter who manufactured it.

Please keep us posted if you have problems with it and most especially if you don't.

I would love to hear a positive review once a large number of rounds have gone down range.

I ordered a TT Gun Leather holster about 4 weeks ago. It's an all leather IWB holster by the name of Slim XC.

Congrats on the new purchase! I hope it serves you well, for many years! I love my 1911's... I have a number of "guns" but the 1911's are all special to me.

Interestingly enough, my only "issue gun" ever was a colt. You can find a good argument not to trust any brand- just visit their respective forum. You can also find thousands of examples on the same forums of people with ZERO malfunctions of any kind. I also read of people with issues with 1911's but don't really know any personally. I do , however, know several people with Glocks and other "modern" pistols that have had issues. That doesn't mean that any one brand or design is bad? No, just that like ALL brands... an occasional pistol gets through QC that shouldn't have. Or as some put it- all things man made are destined to fail at one time or another. My real duty as a carrier of a weapon is to prove mine to be reliable for the sake of my wife and child. (or dedicate it to range-only use)

You will love shooting that gun I have the same one shot mine the first time last week. I had one feed problem but I think it was my fault once I cleared it worked great the rest of the day. I became a member of the Ruger and 1911 forum. The front site is the biggest issue I've read about.

Yea I saw that to. I am hoping mine holds up but if not I will send it back and get the fiber optic on it, from what I read they do it no charge for the upgrade. but with my luck they will want to charge me. Have you got to shoot it yet? if so how was it?

Haven't shot it yet. I popped a rib on New Years day at Kemah. Ironically on a roller coaster name Bullet. I got disconnected from the cartilage that holds it to the breast bone. It's uncomfortable to say the least. As far as the front site goes, I've read the factory one is MIM. The fiber optic one is genuine Novak and the also offer a genuine Novak blade site. I already have my mind made up on the fiber optic one. I might go ahead and buy it with the 20% discount that came with the gun. I'll give a range report hopefully this weekend.

Here's what I started with.

I started at the top of the stack and 4 factory Ruger stainless 7 round mags. The pistol ate everything and still has the front sight after 400 rounds. The only issues were ammo/mag related. A couple times while trying to camber the first round with the steel cased rounds, the round would nose dive instead of cambering. One of the mags that didn't come with the pistol wouldn't drop out all the way. After I came home I put the calipers to it and the top of the mag was .005" bigger then the other 3. A rag and a pair of pliers and the problem is solved. If your wondering, 400 rounds is a lot to fire during one range visit. The pistol is awesome and shoots where it's aimed. I'm a lot better with it then my striker fired .40. This 1911 has a more manageable recoil then my Taurus .40 and follow up shots are a lot quicker.
