bi-fold front pocket wallet with a window on the outside. CHL goes behind the drivers license with picture facing inwards. been using a front pocket wallet for most of my life. Once you go front, you'll never go back.
I hate having anything in my pocket so I keep it to a minimum. I picked up a business card holder. Very thin. In it I have my DL, CHL Mil ID on one side, 2 credit cards, Work ID and insurance on the other. Cash, when I am lucky enough to have any gets folded up in the middle. Whol package is only about 1/4" thick

it looks kinda like this without the zipper ... the ID window can be opened like a trifold sorta and there is another window on the back. its easy to get to and nobody has to see it unless i want them to. Ill take pics later if i can rember.
Mine stays behind my DL in my wallet. But I make it a point to take my wallet out while I'm driving and keep it in the cupholder. My Insurance card stays on a clip on my visor. if I get pulled over there's never reason to suspect I'm reaching for anything.
I carry a trifold wallet. It has several card slots. My DL & CHL are together in one slot. When I was in Police work I never would take a wallet are card holder when presented with one. I always ask the person I stopped to remove their DL and insurance card from any case it was in. That was pretty norm at the time. Some officers were accuse of taking money form the case. It was hard to disprove that.
When I started traveling to China, my wife got me a front-pocket wallet (pickpockets target Westerners). I now like it better than in the back, but it still basically standard pockets for bills and cards. I keep the CHL and DL together.

Treating one variety of person as better or worse than others by accident of birth is morally indefensible.
I love my Vera Bradley wallet so much I bought several. They have a flip down side that has double ID card slots. I keep my mil. ID card on one side and my Texas DL on the other side, with my CHL right behind it, so it's not exposed. If anyone asks to hold my Texas ID, I pull it out and hold my wallet closed.
I wonder if Vera makes men's wallets.
If you want a lanyard type I'd card holder check the travel section, they may have some that are made to wear under your shirt. Or check a military surplus store, military has all sorts of ID card holders.
If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you carry a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about?
