Wal-Mart "30.06" Laredo

Post by TacoMalo »

New to this forum so a big hello to all!

I was at the Wal-Mart in Laredo, TX and saw the 30.06 sign above the sporting goods counter and wondered why it was only posted there and not at the front doors, I spoke to the manager and corporate and they each were clueless. I posted this question on another forum I frequent and a summary of the phone conversation I had with walmart....

local store management said, "that sign is news to me let me go check on that.... *on hold*... , ok sir, that sign is supposed to be there and it is not on the front doors because the store was recently remodeled but that is WalMart policy for the entire world"

I said, "The entire world?"

"..Yes sir, the entire world"

OMG!!!!!

So what I'm getting at is I've never seen a sign posted at any other Wal-Mart I've ever been to and I was wondering if this is something new from corporate or just a local manager that decided to do this on his own?

well, WalMart (or the Borg, as I call it...) is taking over the world.
sounds to me like they are idiots there, and obviously don't want your business!
Target's nicer, anyway.

I just visited the new Super WM in my town and looked everywhere and found none. The old non-Super WM it replaced didn't have one, I just wanted to recheck with the new one to make sure that they didn't have new policies with new stores or with Super WM vs. non-Super WM. I have never seen a 30.06 in any WM or Super WM I've been to.

But Target does not carry ammo nor any other firearms-related merchandise.

I work in Walmarts all over the DFW metroplex. (BTW, I am NOT a Walmart employee)

I have NEVER seen a 30.06 in a Walmart. Obviously, it is NOT a world policy.

Contact the district manager for Walmart for that region.

The store manager is clueless.

they might be trying to say, like most gun shops, please don't pull a loaded gun out to show it to me..

+1 that was a store manager decision, not zone.. it will be gone within a week of your calling the district manager...

that's a dual edged sword.. they put many small gunshops out of business over the years.. now as WM pulls out of the gun business, and in 2-3 years they will be completely out of it I predict.. that leaves a void for small AMERICAN owned business to step in.. you might pay $10 more for a gun, but you'll support someones family.
