Welcome aboard Bryan1980.

Ammo is expensive when you can find it and "getting better" is relative. It is getting better than it was a year ago, but I fear that it will never be as good as it was 6-7 years ago again.

I'm afraid you're right. I remember when my dad stopped reloading 15 years ago, ammo was so cheap back then it didn't make sense. Not the case these days.

A bit of good news, my XD has the fix. It has the second roll pin. :cheers2:

I went there quite a bit with Dad when I was growing up. We also went to Alpine some, too. I'm up in far north Ft. Worth, so I've been checking out Shoot Smart Academy's website.
Welcome - we must be neighbors!! I'm in far North Fort Worth, just a mile from Shoot Smart. You'll find some great information here!

Glad to hear it's a good place, it will be nice to have a place so close to shoot at. I was also thinking of either taking the intermediate pistol class there or getting a private lesson.

Just need to get some ammo. I was passing by the Wally World in Bedford off of 121 this morning, so I stopped-in just to see what they had. They were cleaned-out of 9MM. They had lots of .40, and some .45, though. This is starting to concern me a little bit.

:iagree: I agree to the welcome and the ammo! I usually get mine from Wally World. They certainly get in a lot more than a year ago, although still a little challenging on the 9...

I found a deal from Freedom Munitions for 500 rounds of new 115gr FMJ for around $.30 a round. It was the best deal I could find, so I jumped on it.

Also, I signed up for the Pistol 102 class at Shoot Smart. I got the last slot for this Thursday's class. Sounds like it should be a good refresher for me.

Did my 9MM Basic pistol class last night at Shoot Smart. It was a very good refresher for me, and I even learned some new things about my grip and trigger control. We did some shooting/malfunction drills with some Smith M&P's. Granted, it was only at 3 yds., but I did pretty good for not having shot in about 10 years. Adam W. did a great job teaching the class.

My ammo should be here on Monday, so I can't wait to get on the range with my XD-S!
