I just bought a Windham Weaponry Carbon Fiber SRC. This is a flat top AR. For iron sights, I purchased Magpul MBUS Front (MAG247) and Rear (MAG248).
My problem: the rear sight easily slides onto the rear rail because it has a starting tongue at the charging handle which serves to align and slightly spread the bottom of the sight.. The front rail, however, has no such starting tongue. I haven't been able to slide the front sight onto the front rail.
Any ideas?

Try taking to the screw all the way off. Place the sight in the place you want it and replace the screw. The screw should just slide right through the space on the rail.

The screw is already off.
Re: Windham SRC front sight
Is this a normal picatinny rail 1913?
If you do not have low profile picatinny rail covers or something of that sort is should just set down on your rail or slide to the position you want it. Then the screw should insert.
Someone a lot smarter than I will sure be a long to help.

Tech Support at Windham Weaponry told me the trick: warm and soften polymer sights in hot water, then tap them into place with a plastic hammer.
