Any Austin area seamstress with holster alteration experienc

I just got shipment of a cross arm shoulder holster that needs a tiedown modification to be the carry positioning that I need.

I live in Austin and there are alot of seamstress/alteration places around, but I do not want to take it to "just anyone".

I'd prefer to take my shoulder holster to a seamstress/alteration shop with experience with gun holster alterations....so that I wouldn't get strange "worried" looks and freak them out about being a conceal gun(CHL) person.

The tiedown alteration will be pretty simple (for them), but would like to have it done by someone used to gun owner clients.

Are there any in the Austin area(central or south preferably) that anybody could recommend with "experience", please?

Check at harness/shoe shops the sewing machines needed for most holster work are heavier duty than those needed for dress making. Some leather shops do custom holster work along with the harness and shoe repair.

Yes, I know that.
Although it is nylon mesh rimmed with plastic and velcro, it would need a stout machine.

But does anyone know of a particular place the does it.....without being alarmed that I carry pistols?

(NOTHING in the phone book or Google about gun holster alteration places in Austin)

Is it leather? Flintknapper recommended Capitol Saddlery to me for holster leather work. They're on Lavaca at about 17th street. They've been around for a long time, over 75 years. It doesn't seem to be the type of place that would flinch at doing leather work on a holster. They seemed plenty fine with it when I took my shoulder rig in.

No, not leather...but I'm sure they would have the stout machines to do this little project for me.

AND if they are used to gun people needing equipment modifactions, I'll "hoof it" right down there.

That little place was just what I needed. It Definitely was Not a little lady at a sewing machine, who would be weirded out by a project for "gun guy". These guys new exactly what I wanted done and will get after it for me.

I have NO Doubt that those guys had their own pistols in the shop!...Ha!

Glad I could help.

There's getting to be more and more Austin-area folks in here. We ought to organize some sort of get-together soon. There's a new range not far from town called Lone Star Gun Range that would probably be good to meet at. Right now, it's only handgunning (rifle range is supposed to be up sometime this summer), but they do allow drawing and moving there, so it's a good place to practice defensive shooting. Maybe I'll make a post and see if people want to get together.
