French consulate in Houston...
I have to arrange a trip to Houston soon for an appointment at the French consulate there, to update some information relative to the French half of my dual citizenship. The address is:

I would definitely leave it in the parking lot. Embassies and consulates are considered foreign soil and the security detail at each differs slightly based on country and physical location here in the US. At best you will likely have to endure a very serious conversation with a US Diplomatic Security agent. The Annoyed Man wrote:I have to arrange a trip to Houston soon for an appointment at the French consulate there, to update some information relative to the French half of my dual citizenship. Does anyone know if there are any special CHL restrictions either for the parking lot, the building in general, or the 6th floor specifically? Are foreign consulates under the same kinds of restrictions as U.S. federal property?

But if the consulate is confined to the 6th floor, there shouldn't be any parking lot issues, right?spongeworthy wrote:I would definitely leave it in the parking lot. It appears there is a parking garage behind the property, so you're probably good to go.

I closed my mortgage in that building and don't recall any 30.06 signs. So you should be fine in visitor parking, if that's your concern.

I sent you a PM, let me know when you're out here.
We have a consulate in our building and there are no special restrictions in the parking lot.
