Safelert Monitoring System

Post by 10Shooter »

I was looking for safe accessories and found a new product (at least to me) developed by Liberty Safes called SafElert. Basically it's an environmental and motion monitoring device that you put in your safe. It joins your home WiFi network and then you can check the status of your safe from any computer or smartphone. It will also alert you via text message when any of the monitored parameters exceeds a certain threshold, or if somebody opens your safe, or if it detects that the safe is moving!

Here's more info about the device: http://www.libertysafe.com/accessory-sa ... pg-85.html

They also have an app for iPhones and Android where you can monitor the status in real time.
Also has free monitoring.

Anyway I have no connection to Liberty Safes. I just think this is a really great idea and I was wondering if anybody out there has seen or owns one. I'll probably end up getting one for myself at some point.

I put one in my safe. It monitors whether the Door is open/closed, any movement, Internal Temperature, Humidity and Battery. It will send you and email and or text if there is movement, door open or if it gets disconnected from the internet.

The only issue was the battery was show 80% and I was no longer getting a status. Quick battery change and it was up and running.

I saw that in the little accessory book that came with my new safe and I've been wanting to look into it a little more. Sounds like a great idea.

Don't you love what technology can do. I do not have a safe yet but I will certainly look at getting this.
Thanks for sharing.

I bought one and put in it my safe. Been 3 weeks, working great, battery still shows 100%.
Did discover that my "always on" internet connect (TWC) actually cycles off/on about 3:00 AM every few days. I have all the alerts on for now.
So far, so good.
