This is terrible, but I hate it when reporters automatically report gunfire as "automatic weapons fire" whenever something like this goes down. It's like, it's not terrible enough, so they have the pump up the drama even more.

No, but if you are carrying a couple of tactical rifles with a bandanna on your head, then you are

Yep. They have some restrictions, but it's legal. This article has a pretty good explanation http://www.csmonitor.com/World/Americas ... laws-video" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I think the reporter was reporting what the witness may have said. Also, who is to say the BG or the RCMP or both weren't firing full auto?

There are a lot of ways to make a semi auto into full auto just none of them are legal in the US and, probably Canada. If the man was dressed Rambo like, thought Rambo like, and is willing to kill LEOs then, the fact his full auto firearm is illegal would be a minor technicality. :tiphat:

Pistols (no sub-compact), shotguns, bolt rifles and semi modern rifles (including SBRs) are all legal, but all should be registered and they are called restricted. All firearms are to be locked unless you are at the range. The only transportation allowed are from/to range. Range membership is mandatory.

I sincerely apologize to anybody I offended by suggesting the Second Amendment also applies to The People who don't work for the government.
