So i get an email today from a local ffl with a sale on kahr's
I've already got a PM9 which for the size is a really handy little firearm for quick pocket carry, never really considered another one because I didnt need one
BUT I saw the price on the cw45 and its so cheap I almost can't pass it up, I've read some good reviews sounds about like my PM9 takes a good breakin period to be reliable
How are these for CC? the grip looks a tad long. I read some people use officer sized 1911 mags in them and claim they fit in 1911 holsters.

Re: Kahr CW45 reviews?
I had a CW45. Decent slim .45 with a smooth trigger. They do require a break-in period. They fit most leather or synthetic leather 1911 holsters. Not hard formed plastic or kydex ones though.
I sold mine because it was a bit rough in the recoil department and it wouldn't consistently cycle hollow-points. I carried it as a CHL pistol. No way I was going to carry a pistol that MIGHT work when the situation called for it. I swapped to a Glock G30 and I haven't looked back. Reliable, softer shooting, holds more BBs, and cycles anything I feed it.

Hello. My name is Red and I used to carry a .45. Now I carry a 9mm and it's getting easier to admit every day.

Re: Kahr CW45 reviews?
Exactly my own experience.....except that I actually had confidence in the gun. It required exactly the 200 round break-in period Kahr calls for, and it functioned flawlessly after that, including with hollowpoints. It was even reasonably accurate. Like ALL of the CW and CM line of Kahrs, it was a little bit lacking in the fit/finish department, but it never jammed after break-in. I eventually traded it in because what I really wanted all along was an XDS-45......which I didn't know at the time that I bought the Kahr because the XDS was announced shortly after buying the CW45.Reds45ACP wrote:I had a CW45. The CW45 carried well. I did initially use a holster I had for a 3" 1911, but I soon bought the Mitch Rosen holster Kahr sells on their website for the CW45, and it was a nice, well-made holster that fit the gun perfectly.
I would say that my biggest complaint about that gun (and about Kahrs in general) is that the magazines seemed a bit cheesy in construction. It is possible to fairly easily modify an Officers 1911 magazine to fit the CW45.
The CW45 is a GREAT gun for someone on a tight budget......as is the CW9, which is my wife's EDC. I think I paid $399 for mine, which compares very favorably against even discounted prices for an XDS-45 or a Glock 36.....the two guns which come immediately to mind as competitors in the "small single-stack .45" class. Yes, for $399 you give up some quality, but I think that reliability is acceptable for a carry gun.

Re: Kahr CW45 reviews?
sounds about like what I expected, but for $289 i might just kick the tires on one.
Biggest issue I had with my PM9 is the extended magazine seemed to be unreliable even after breakin period so I just stopped using it completely.
what I really would like is an M&P shield in .45acp, if i'm carrying in a holster the shield has become my go to

Re: Kahr CW45 reviews?
I have the PM45 and love it. The recoil and grip (same as the CW) texture made it feel like a cheese grater in my hand when I first shot it...so painful I hated it. I got the Agrip off of their website and it made all of the difference in the world. I wouldn't trade it for anything now.

Have about 350 rounds through my CW45 without any problems.
That Grabagun $289 price is a darn great deal.

Re: Kahr CW45 reviews?
Always wanted a kahr because of concealment and the cw and Ct prices are great. After talking to many firearms instructors most have carried them concealed but have moved to weapons like the shield xds or back to glock.
What moved most of them away was when they induced ftf and then trying to clear them with one hand. Many couldn't do it quickly or effectively and most of them do not recommend them for women who are not above average hand or arm strength. My chl instructor demonstrated for us a cw9 and pm9 with ftf and out of the 7 women in our class 2 could clear the jam and both of those 2 took more then one attempt.
Don't get me wrong I like them alot and so did my wife but she couldn't rack that slide to save her life.
