06/16/14 DPS Recieved Paperwork
06/19/14 Background Check Complete
06/20/14 License Mailed
06/25/14 Recieved Plastic!

I hear you! From what i have read and been told i must have had luck on my side. 19 Day's mailbox to mailbox is fast.

I think it's the luck of the draw. I've dealt with enough government agencies to know that employees usually fall into one of 3 catogories;
1. The guy who shows up a couple minutes late and actually thinks about doing something a couple hours later. Not the norm by any means but plenty of them out there.
2. The guy who shows up on time does the minimum required of him and feels good about himself. Very much the norm.
3. The go getter who shows up early. Takes extreme pride in his work and is very customer minded. Great producer. Very rarely found in any line of work much less in a government job.

Now, imagine that each of these employees get a stack of applications. If your app winds up with employee 1 you are in for a long wait. I expect our friend with the 13 day turn around was fortunate enough to have his app land on employee # 3's desk.

Status went from waiting on docs to nothing 6/29
Called dps my chl mailed today 6/30

Hopefully it gets here soon.... :anamatedbanana

I'm another June applicant who just got my license. 39 days from document upload to receipt of license.
  • 6/14 - CHL class
    6/16 - online app
    6/24 - FAST fingerprints & document upload
    6/25 - received email acknowledging receipt of docs
    7/31 - website change
    8/2 - license received in mail
