I think some of you are making this a whole lot more of a bog deal than it is. If you're getting out of your car and unholstering or holstering in plain sight, then I'll agree with you, but you'd also have to be asking for issues to do something like that.
If you're in the privacy of your own vehicle and should easily be able to discreetly unholster, secure, reholster. I can and do in various types of cars although by truck is pretty easy. But when we have a convertible for "convertible season", and it's something that draws a little attention, I still don't have any problem, but I don't plan on it being a problem either.

You're fine as long as nobody sees you.
If you are seen, hope its not by one of those guys who think a rifle on a sling is calculared to cause alarm, because a loaded gun in smebody's hand is a lot more alarming than a slung or holstered gun!

I would never do that because what that'll most likely sound like to a 911 operator is "I'm a man with a gun and I'm at such & such location." IMO it sounds like a good way to get killed or in the best case scenario legal trouble. My CHL instructor & attorney told me that if I'm ever involved in a situation where I have to use my weapon keep the convo with the 911 operator minimal. "I've been the victim of a crime, I'm at this address, send police and paramedics" minimal.bigity wrote:My CHL instructor said if you accidentally reveal, call 911 and tell them what happened. I guess the idea is that calling them yourself beats 911 getting a random call about a guy with a gun down at the mall.

There's an old adage that goes something like this . . .PBR wrote:I just feel if someone happens to see you walk all the way up to a door then see "a sign" then turn around go back to the car, they most likely know what your doing.
"you think more about it than they think about you"
If you think of all the people on their cell phone, not paying attn to where they're walking, MUCH LESS DRIVING, you'll realize how little people are aware of anything. It's a wonder they remember to breathe . . .

Divorce papers will be served on Monday.sbrawley wrote:A couple of days ago, I had dropped my wife off at a retail store, left to get some drinks, came back and she was standing at the register. I walked up behind her and just stood there. Blew in her hair a couple of times. nothing. after about 3-4 minutes, I texted her to "turn around". when she did, she jumped nearly out of her shoes. needless to say, I and the cashier had a good laugh (the cashier is my wife's friend)LAYGO wrote:There's an old adage that goes something like this . . .PBR wrote:I just feel if someone happens to see you walk all the way up to a door then see "a sign" then turn around go back to the car, they most likely know what your doing.

I pocket carry so this not been a issue. I send my wife or Daughter into the POST OFFICE. But I started
doubling back when we put stuff in the trunk. I get where I can watch my car and I keep and eye on it. No problems so far but I did spook two teenagers who started snooping around my car I set the panic alarm off on them and they scattered like a spooked cat.
