Great pistol, congrats on your first .45 it will probably not be your last, they are great fun to shoot!

BTW, IIRC, the Tommy Gun weights about the same as a Garand. Not sure if there would be much difference in the weight of the ammo. 30-06 ammo isn't light either, but the Tommy Gun guys probably carried more with them because of the rate of fire.
