I want to share todays activities, it was a good day.
Starting with the purchase of my new XD9sc from the Bullet Trap in Plano. Since I am CHL, the purchase was easy and fast. While the Mgr was reviewing the paperwork, he caught that my DL address had CT, but CHL had ST. I did not catch this upon receipt of my license a few months ago. I was able to continue with the purchase, but will now need to contact DPS and request a corrected license. **Yeah**
I then take my daughters BF and my sons best friend to the Garland Public Range for some fun. We fire of 250 rounds at different distances with some good accuracy. **Yeah**
I then go to show off my new toy to my mom and stepdad, both CHL and glock lovers. They both love the many safety featchers and will consider their next purchase to be an XD. **Yeah**
I then take the Wally Walk, load up, use the supplied holster, wearing shorts and untucked hawaiian shirt. I walk a few aisles and then go to the restroom for practice. Nobody inside but me, I enter a stall, carefully take gun and holster off so it does not fall off or be seen. I then redress, slide gun and holster back on, feed belt thru loop, zip and button up, then CRASH, off slides gun and holster. I scrammble to pick it up before anybody comes in. Lesson learned, have pants zipped and fastened then slide back on the belt. I then go to McDonalds for a drink and continue "shopping", bought some earplugs and cookies with a refill on the drink. I checkout and drive home.
So for first day with a gun small enough to conceal, not a bad day at all.

Second Moral
Yes, that would have been interesting, but only water as I was doing a test of my lack of abilities and did not need to go.

The restroom drill is best practiced at home a few times. It's difficult to get.
I finally started putting my gun in an empty compartment of my purse during such transaction, and my purse remains on a stall hook.
Once the pants & belt are secure, the gun goes back in the holster.
I realize this may not help you unless you have a man-purse, but could be done by ladies here.

The NRA & TSRA are a bargain; they're much cheaper than the cold, dead hands experience.
