Trigger pull on a Taurus PT100-AFS

Post by RetNavy »

Bought a .40 S&W Taurus a few weekends ago and finally got around to try it out this Saturday... trigger has about 1/4 inch of slack before feeling tension before firing.... is this normal for this model of gun???? .... both my wife 9mm and my Ruger do not have that slack at all....

after cleaning and re-assembly notice that there is hardly any slack if using it in DA.

I am going to take it to a gun shop north of town to get the sights replaced.... it has three red dots and couldnt even see them today with bright sun light...

My PT100 is the same - about 1/4" +/- in SA; 1/8" or so in DA. Same applies to my PT92 and PT99's - all Taurus. Great pistols, good bang for the buck. Enjoy.

As for the sights - get a toothpick and some bright white nail polish or Testors enamel paint - cheap and works great - I generally use dayglo orange or red.

Actually thought about the nail polish..... Dad put a spot of white polish on his .303 British peep sights for deer hunting...

I bought one of the 101's when Academy had them for $300. It was ok, but ya the trigger was horrible.

It won't help with that slack, but do yourself a HUGE favor & pick up a Beretta D spring or the Wilson Combat version.

It's easy to swap in & will feel MUCH better.
