Yes, Gen. Rogers is who I was looking for. Thanks. My thought, based on nothing except my admiration and respect for our soldiers, is the way to handle ISIS is to tell Gen. Rogers to use anything in his command, in any way he sees fit, with no restrictions whatsoever, to take care of the problem.

I can imagine they would, and fairly quickly at that. However this administration isn't going to give them anything close to that, we gotta play politics with war doncha know, gotta make myself look good and be able to sweep it under the rug should it go south

No, the skunk in chief isn't going to do anything worthwhile or proper. I just believe there isn't much that SF couldn't completely solve if given the proper authority to do so and the support they need to do it.

Haven't we learned yet that there is no solution to this "problem"? Eliminate one group and another group simply takes it's place. Our focus needs to be on securing our borders and limiting our dependence on Mideast oil (opening our own oil rich lands for drilling).
People in the region have been killing each other for thousands of years. Nothing we do is going to change that. It's time for stable powers within the region to step up and take action.

I am all for locking the border completely and oil independence. I don't believe this would be an absolute solution. I do believe it would be a much more complete solution to ISIS in a much shorter period of time with far less loss to us than what we'll see the way we are going. That was my point.

Well ideally I'd like to see our border about as secure to intruders as the former East German border was to escapees. That's a separate issue though. I'd like to see our problem with terrorists solved with the least cost to U.S. citizens. My thought on that is we should turn the job over to Special Operations Command to do as they see fit. With their elite members, given a free hand and full resources, I believe they could solve the problem quite nicely. But then I am hardcore pro-military and sometimes too optimistic about some things.
