First a little background.
In February this year, there was some gunfire across the street and down one house (rental house). My wife who is OK with guns, but never had a desire to shoot, all of a sudden gets interested in having a gun. Ended up buying her a SIG P238. Teach her how to shoot and she enjoys it. We talk about getting our CHL together. Several months later, the people renting the house where this happened got kicked out.
We were going to get our CHL's but had to delay it because she had to have neck surgery. So now she is better and I started talking about CHL and now she's,
"Since those people moved it's been quiet so I don't see why I need it."
"Why would I need to carry a gun with me?"
"I don't know if I'd be comfortable going anywhere if you had a gun with you."
"I've never hear of a story in the news where someone with a CHL save someone elses life or their own."
What the.....!
So what if they moved. You don't even feel like you can go for a walk around the neighborhood!
You need to carry no matter where you go. Walmart, gas station where you've had people asking for money, grocery store where you've had people asking for money, the mall parking lot, etc.
Do you think I'd go crazy and start shooting everyone? Not going to play Rambo either.
Of course you don't hear about CHL's defending themselves. The media only reports the bad things for the headlines.
I'm thinking the surgery must have done something to her thought processes. If Obamalama ding dong does the executive action thing on immigration, I won't feel safe if I don't have a gun on me.
Man, she doth vex me!
A sort of funny story about the shooting. There were 7 shots fired, .32 cal. I opened the front door after the first 4. OK not really smart was it. I hear 3 more shots. Still standing at the door. Still not smart, huh? Well, I see an SUV take off. Then I see this guy running after the SUV and throw something at the car and hit it on the back window! OK, someone in the car has a gun and you are going to chase it and hit it with something! WOW! that's REALLY not smart! Fortunately, no one was hurt and I'm glad things have calmed down but that one guy was certainly trying for a Darwin Award!
