Got pulled over when carrying for 1st time.
I got pulled over on my way home from Lubbock to DFW for the July 4th break. It was in Snyder TX and I got pulled over coming down 'the hill' as it is known where they always get you since no one rides the brake coming down it so you always go over 70. Well, I was a bit over 80 when he lit me up.
Pretty lame, but part of life.
He came up to the car pretty irritated that I was 'intentionally' speeding so fast. I apologized, didn't argue, and just answered what he asked.
He requested my DL and insurance as he said I would be ticketed for excessive speeding. I handed him my DL and CHL and I dug for my insurance card in my wallet. Before I had it out, he was handing back my DL and CHL and stated I would be issued a warning for speeding. He walked to his car, came back a few minutes later with the written warning.
Then he thanked me for taking my time and responsibility in a service that not many Texans have.
So I guess that CHL just paid for itself with the price of the ticket.
Just thought I would share.....

Good for you!
Now...As I plan to do this on my next "encounter"...
If I get a warning, I'll be figuring out what the cost of that ticket/fine would have been if I get a warning, and donating that amount to the local (if they have one, if they don't I'll figure something out) Law Enforcement Family find, or the like...
Something struck a similar cord with me in another thread where this kinda thought came up...
Its either this, or buy the equivalent $$$ amount in ammo...

You're fortunate to have had a good experience in Snyder. The worst, most aggressive trooper I have encountered to date was in the same spot, a bogus "bad tail light" stop, which was a ruse for a car search, which I refused. After bullying and some threats, he made a call, at my request, to the local Sheriff, with whom I had worked on a civic project in Snyder a few months earlier. He then contemptuously let me go.

In the last 12 years as a CHL holder, I have been stopped maybe a dozen times and have only been ticket one time. In every stop, the officers seem to relax somewhat after seeing my CHL, and I have even had a couple want to "compare" carry guns.
I am NOT a supporter of law enforcement, but overall, my traffic stop experiences have been very positive. I contribute that to me being a CHL holder.
