Interesting. Don't think I'll want one. I wonder what the market will be for these and how long the popularity will last. I wonder if it will be like the .40S&W round. A compromise round that is more trouble than it's worth.

Re: New Mk47 'Mutant'
While I applaud the inventive design, it seems that it took the worst parts (weaknesses) of the 3 popular rifles.
* Direct Impingement system
* Piston gun weight
* Funky curved magazines
* 7.62 x 39 limitations

Re: New Mk47 'Mutant'
At $1500, I can't see it being hugely popular, but I have seen people shooting AR's in 7.62X39 before. I have heard there are more non-AK 7.62X39 rifles out or coming out. We will see which is better. The other two I know of are the Sig 556 in 7.62X39 and IWI is supposed to be introducing a new Galil rifle soon.
If the gun is more accurate than the high end AK's, then they might have something. That is the question for me. Can it get down to 2 MOA or better?

Although I've been known to be wrong, I don't see much of a market for this rifle.

SIG 556R is a better choice. AR with an AK bolt and shoots the 7.62x39

I've seen one of those and had forgotten about it. I almost got one a couple years back before I decided on the Colt LE6920.Beiruty wrote:SIG 556R is a better choice. AR with an AK bolt and shoots the 7.62x39
